DNVND

A record of my journey through design.
Here is the next release for Seasons Recordings. This record is by DJ Garphie and Diviniti, and is titled “Could You Be Mine”. The is a thick, bass heavy, yet soulful house track. The heavy bass gave this song more of garagey electronic dance feel which gave me the idea of the big pixel squares. I retouched and recolored the image, then added the trees, sailboat, island, and mosaic squares. Finally, I brought the flattened image into Illustrator and messed with some type. I like this image even more when it’s shrunk down. It has a different effect on your eyes. I feel like this art fits the Seasons vibe well.

This release was called “What Do I Do” by Aphreme & Tigrano featuring Cei Bei. When I first listened to the track the lyrics were basically talking about a lost relationship and finding oneself after the pain. Almost as if someone was replaying the scenario in their head of what they did to lose the person. So I imagined a picture almost like signed by the person, as like a final memory. I used Photoshop to distress the image and then took the image into illustrator for the text. I was pretty happy with it.

This is the next record cover I did for Seasons Recordings called “Dance of Love” by Trancemicsoul. This was a soothing track to listen to while creating this cover art. The title “Dance of Love” reminded me of how swaying movement of the leaves falling from a tree create a graceful rhythmic motion similar to the song. This was created in Photoshop and Illustrator with some hand drawn elements.

A record cover for Seasons Recordings using Photoshop and Illustrator. I was very satisfied with the final product. I like the blend of the earth tones 8 bit digital effect together, with a little texture added.
